An anonymous report leads to the conviction of a heroin dealer in Evansville. A Vanderburgh County jury found 58-year-old Larry Johnson guilty to several drug-related charges.
These charges stemmed from an anonymous tip about drug activity that was reported to the WeTip hotline in May 2017.
Drug Task Force Detectives received a WeTip report on May 12th that drugs were being sold out of a home in the 700 block of Washington Avenue.
Within two days, detectives set up a controlled buy and bought heroin from Johnson.
When detectives searched Johnson’s home, they recovered 14 grams of heroin and various drug paraphernalia.
Johnson was found guilty of dealing in a narcotic drug more than 10 grams, dealing in a narcotic drug, and maintaining a common nuisance.
Larry Johnson will be sentenced on February 28th.
