UE’s Egidijus Mockevicius officially signs with Brooklyn Nets, heads to training camp

A source close to the situation tells 44Sports former University of Evansville men’s basketball standout Egidijus Mockevicius has officially signed a partially guaranteed deal with the Brooklyn Nets. He will attend the team’s training camp, where he will have a chance to make the team. The terms of the deal have not been released.

The Lithuanian agreed to a partially guaranteed one-year deal with the Nets June 26 after he went undrafted in this year’s NBA Draft June 23.

Mockevicius’ agent, Pedro Power with You First Sports in Miami, Florida, told 44Sports last month the 6-10 center worked out with at least 10 NBA teams during the pre-draft.

In addition to setting Evansville’s all-time rebounding record with 1,260 career boards, Mockevicius also finished the year with 27 double-doubles over 34 games, tying with Pascal Siakam of New Mexico State for the most in the country.
