Two lawsuits have been filed against rideshare company Lyft this week.
A disabled woman who was taking a Lyft ride home from the grocery store said that after accepting the driver’s seemingly kind offer to help her take her grocery bags inside, she was assaulted by the driver.
The victim says that after the driver dropped off the last bag, he approached her, grabbing her face forcefully trying to kiss her. She then kneed him in the stomach and screamed, at which point the driver fled.
Class-action lawsuits have been filed by 20 women against Lyft for alleged sexual assaults in multiple states.
Their goal is to eventually require all Lyft drivers to have surveillance video in their vehicles.
