It’s been 30 years since Chinese tanks rolled into Beijing’s Tiananmen Square during a student-led protest movement calling for greater political freedom.
The incident turned into a massacre.
At the infamous square Tuesday it was pretty much business as usual, although security appeared tighter than normal.
Tourists know of the anniversary, but many young Chinese people have never heard of it.
Commemoration of the event is banned in China and there is no mention of it in Chinese school textbooks.
