Suspect in Saugus High School Shooting Dies From His Injuries

The shooter who killed two classmates at Saugus High School in California died from his injuries, officials said Friday.

Nathaniel Tennosuke Berhow, 16, died Friday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was a junior at the school.

Thursday morning, Berhow pulled a .45 caliber firearm from his backpack and shot five classmates, killing two.

Officials say his mother was present at the hospital at the time of his death.

Three of the victims are recovering from their injuries.

Authorities say it is unclear what provoked Berhow to carry out the deadly assault, which occurred on his 16th birthday.
