One firefighter is dead and six others are injured after a powerful propane explosion in Maine.
According to the Farmington Police Department, the explosion happened 8:30 a.m. Monday in Farmington when crews arrived to investigate the smell of gas.
Officials say the smell of gas could be detected and the building was evacuated before most workers had arrived for the day. Among the injured included four fighters, an ambulance worker and an employee for the nonprofit. Their conditions are currently unknown.
The building housed was recently renovated and housed LEAP Inc. which serves people with cognitive and intellectual disabilities. The explosion left only a hole, according to CBS News.
