Paying Homage to Their Fallen Brothers

In 1861 a group of Gibson County farmers and tradesmen began training to join Union Troops in the North, as they worked to quell a rebellion born in the South in what would become the Civil War.

But in an effort to preserve their place in Princeton History, the troops would create a unique tribute to their own efforts.

The monument still standing today, is the subject of this week’s Tri-State Treasure.
