Another controversy for Nike.
The company decided to pull their Air Max Fourth of July shoe featuring the Betsy Ross American Flag on the heel. The decision comes after Nike athlete and former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick voiced his concerns about the design.
Kaepernick told Nike officials he felt the flag was linked to a period of slavery and may be considered offensive. The Ross flag was one of many used during the Revolutionary War but has recently been used by White Supremacy movements.
The shoe has already been shipped to retailers and are being sold on re-sale sites for as much as $2,500.
