The search for 19 year old missing teen Aleah Beckerle continues, posters offering a $10,000 reward have been placed all over the tri-state but despite the reward money there are still no leads in the case.
The search efforts to find Aleah are entering week three — on Saturday — a body was found near Pigeon Creek but it was not the missing teen. The Vanderburgh County Coroner has identified the body as 49 year old Larry Thomas of Harrisburg, Illinois. Fowl play is not suspected in the case.
On July 17th, Beckerle was reported missing from her home. The 19 year old suffers from cerebral palsy and police say she is in grave danger. Hundreds of volunteers have given up their time over the past two weeks to bring Aleah home, “This is horrible and I just was moved. I’ve got to do something and I want to say this, I am a very faithful person. I have prayed that we would be successful even if it’s just a clue so I’m hoping today will be the day.”
Volunteers remain positive in their search efforts. Organizers acknowledge as days turn into weeks the probability of finding Aleah alive quickly decreases. The Texas Equu Search crew plans to leave town on Monday after meeting with police. They say they do not plan to return unless law enforcement requests their presence.
