According to CBS News, a judge ruled that the state’s lone abortion clinic can continue abortions through Friday. Planned Parenthood of St. Louis sued the state in late May when the health department threatened to clinic’s license lapse.
On Friday, the judge kicked the clinic’s lawsuit out of court but extended a preliminary injunction previously issued to give the St. Louis clinic time to take a licensing fight before an administrative panel.
If the health center had closed, Missouri would have been the first state to not have an abortion clinic.
Missouri is among several conservative states to pass new restrictions on abortions.
