Out with the old and in with the new in just a matter of months, Hoosier students will be taking a brand new standardized test across the state.
The new ILEARN exam is replacing ISTEP which had been used for decades in Indiana. ILEARN is meant to measure how well Hoosier students know criteria according to their grade level.
Students will notice a change from ISTEP. ILEARN is the first fully computerized test students will take and the questions will increase in difficulty the more students answer correctly.
Officials say they hope the customized questions help students feel more comfortable so they can do their very best.
