A Gibson County man is behind bars, accused of killing two dogs in Pike County.
Indiana State Police arrested 27-year-old Jordan Hunt of Hazelton Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities say the owner of the dogs, Chelsea Koutz, called police saying someone came into her home in Evansville and took both of her dogs. One was a Pitbull Lab mix and the other was a Golden Doodle. She then posted to Facebook, offering a reward for their safe return.
Shortly after noon Wednesday, someone saw the Facebook post and contacted Koutz saying they had seen her dogs in a rural area of County Road 200 North, near Hazelton.
When police arrived, they say the discovered both had been shot and set on fire. Hunt was arrested and taken to the Pike County jail where he’s being held on a $350,000 bond.
