Authorities say a St. Petersburg woman is behind bars for tampering with food.
According to the case affidavit, the woman, identified as Jung Soon Wypcha, peed in an ice cream churning machine at Lu Lu’s Ice Cream shop in Indian Shores. She is also accused of picking her nose and sticking her fingers in ice cream containers. Wypcha was an employee at Lu Lu’s Ice Cream shop.
Police say Wypcha can be seen on surveillance video using the bathroom with the door open five different times in the month of June.
According to court records, Wypcha walked over to a freezer containing cartons of ice cream and shoved her hands into the ice cream containers. On another occasion, Wypcha was caught on video picking her nose and sticking her hands in the ice cream. She was also seen spitting into the ice cream containers on another occasion.
Court records say Wypcha caused $2,000 worth of damage to its products and the store had to close down to clean equipment and throw away any tampered ice cream products.
Wypcha was arrested on July 8th and charged with criminal mischief and violating Florida’s Anti-Tampering law.
