An Evansville man has been sentence to 11 years in prison for being in possession of crack cocaine.
21-year-old Dugniqio Forest was found guilty of Possession of Cocaine in June in Vanderburgh County Superior Court. Judge Richard D’Amour sentenced Forest to serve 11 years in the Indiana Department of Correction.
The jury heard from a DNA expert who gave critical testimony saying Forest’s DNA was found on the baggie of drugs.
Forest has a lengthy criminal history and is currently serving a federal sentence for a firearms conviction. He was also sentenced an additional two years in prison after he pleaded guilty Tuesday to the charge of Felon Carrying a Handgun.
The two sentences will be served consecutively, which is 13 years total.
