Now that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended the public wear facemasks while out and about, some citizens are expressing opinions on the matter.
Some in the community believe that wearing a mask in public is necessary at certain times.
“I think it’s a good idea, as long as you’re in large groups of people. If you’re just out and about, I don’t know if it’s necessarily as big of a deal,” explained Evansville resident Andrew Payne. “I’m not a health professional so it’s hard to say, but personally, I have to for work.”
Some also believe that medical workers need to be prioritized in terms of the distribution of medical supplies.
“The medical field is probably one of the biggest things that need masks, because they’re the ones that help us. So they need to provide them with more masks than us,” said Evansville resident Nathan Vanbibber.
The CDC recommends wearing a mask in public and disposing of it once you’re finished. If it is a cloth/reusable mask, the CDC recommends washing it between uses.
