Comfort Food for a Cause

The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden is hosting a Soup Day to benefit the Goodfellows Club of Owensboro.

It is the Garden’s 15 + year to do so, with every penny of every dollar donated going to the Goodfellows.

The date is Friday December 6th 11am to 1pm.

A minimum Donation of $10 is suggested.

We are hosting at a NEW location which is the Parish Hall of Sts Joseph & Paul church at 609 East 4th Street, Owensboro.
This year we are adding a Soup Contest where Hometown Cooks are serving up samples of their soups. Votes for your favorite Hometown cook are cast by submitting dollars to your favorite soups. We have 8 local community members volunteering their time and soup for this contest.
So Far we have City Commissioner Larry Conder, City Commissioner Pam Smith-Wright, Real Estate Agent Gail Niehaus, Vice President at US Bank Patty Millay, Owner of Gourmet Meals To Go Katie Wimsatt, Director of Community Outreach at Wendell Foster John Gleason, and 14 year old Culinary Novice Daniel Gray. One notable participant is a young man named Daniel Gray. Daniel is ONLY 14 years old and has taken up an interest in cooking and culinary arts. Daniel will be serving up a soup and gathering votes all to benefit the Goodfellows.

How amazing and heartwarming to hear that a child is helping children in his very own community?

Kill 2 birds with 1 stone and comfort your belly AND heart this Friday!
