The civil lawsuit targeting actor Kevin Spacey for an alleged sexual assault in Nantucket has been dropped.
A lawyer, on behalf of the young man, announced on Friday via email that the suit accusing Spacey of groping him and assaulting him in a Nantucket, Massachusetts bar in 2016 has been voluntarily dismissed.
The accuser’s suit sought unspecified damages for “severe and permanent mental distress and emotional injuries.”
No reason was provided as to why those charges were dropped.
Spacey still faces a criminal charge.
He has pleaded not guilty to indecent assault and battery in January.
