Asteroid the Size of Empire State Building to Fly Past Earth

An asteroid as large as the Empire State Building is expected to pass Earth on Saturday, June 6.

The asteroid, named Asteroid 2002 NN4, is estimated to be 250-570 meters (820-1,870 feet) in diameter, according to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Although the asteroid may seem daunting, NASA says the asteroid will pass Earth at a safe distance.
