The friend of a former Arkansas state senator found slain has been formally charged with murder. Rebecca O’Donnell, 48, was charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence in the death of former Arkansas State Senator Linda Collins-Smith.
O’Donnell was arrested Friday in the death of Collins-Smith who was found dead outside her home in Little Rock. The former senator’s body was found in an “advanced state of decomposition” and took authorities two days to identify the remains.
Documents in the case have reportedly been sealed and police have few details surrounding the death of Collins-Smith.
No further information would be released “until authorities are confident it will not compromise the integrity of the criminal case”.
