Active-Duty Sailor Opens Fire at Pearl Harbor

Panic set in at the Pearl Harbor shipyard Wednesday afternoon when a gunman dressed in his Navy uniform opened fire, killing two civilian employees and injuring a third before taking his own life.

The shooter has been identified as 22-year-old Gabriel Romero, an active-duty sailor assigned to the USS Columbia submarine.

This incident took place just two days before the anniversary of the historic 1941 Pearl Harbor attack.

Investigators are still working to figure out a motive for the shooting.
