After record breaking heat yesterday, (we saw a high of 92 degrees beating the previous record of 90 degrees), we continue to see above-average temps this afternoon. Highs today in the mid to upper 80s and a few low 90s.
We can see a few scattered t’storms and showers pop up with daytime heating. A few strong storms can’t be ruled out. We do see a marginal risk for severe weather this afternoon, with hail and winds being the primary concern. Parts of the Northeast and into northern Middle Atlantic are seeing severe weather as we speak, with tornado and severe thunderstorm watches in effect through this evening.
We continue to see daily chances of t’storms this week, and a bit “cooler” with highs in the mid to low 80s on average for the rest of the week. Even though the temps are dipping down, they are still above-average for the month of May!
