No one likes a tax increase, but tri-state voters approved several tax hikes on Election night. There were four questions in various parts of the tri-state asking people to raise taxes. And all four measures passed.
Jasper voters said yes to a proposal to raise taxes for a new library.
Voters in Northeast Dubois County approved a proposal to raise taxes to fund school improvements.
In Hancock County, Kentucky voters approved a nickel property tax hike for school improvements.
And in Wabash County Illinois, voters said yes to a 1% sales tax for school improvements.
