The winter storm watch begins tonight and continues through tomorrow evening. 50s and 60s this morning around the Tri-State with areas of rain. A windy day today with gusts up to 20 plus miles per hour.The rain becomes more widespread today and highs will be in the 60s. A blast of arctic air will be arriving late tonight, and we will see a huge transition. As the cold air works in we will see the rain change to freezing rain and sleet to snow. A tenth of an inch, to a quarter of an inch in ice accumulations are possible. We can see snow accumulations of up 2 to inches, with 4″ inches of isolated snowfall totals possible. The winds, and sleet and ice and snow can make the morning commute difficult.The cold air will be in place for Saturday and Sunday. With highs in the 20s.
