The low pressure system that brought us the wintry mix, continues to bring severe weather to the south this morning. As the Tri-State was seeing freezing rain, light snow and ice, in the south they were seeing multiple severe storms/tornado warnings.
With a sheet of ice forming on cars and on roads…we saw various precipitation types and accumulations, with accidents and slide offs reported. Anywhere from nothing up to about two tenths of an inch of ice glaze, from the storm reports.
This system clears out with clouds clearing from West to East. Highs only in the low 30s today and a little bit of drizzle and fog still lingering as everything clears out. Windy conditions today, with sustained winds 5-20mph.
Tonight, overnight lows in the teens (watch for re-freezing) and by tomorrow highs near 40 and mostly sunny!
