Winter Storm Watch Thursday Evening-Friday Evening……
Rain will change to freezing rain, then sleet from west to east Thursday night. Changeover in Clay, Wayne & Hamilton counties may begin as early as 11 p.m., then work eastward.
Glaze ice & sleet accumulations by Friday afternoon may reach 0.10-0.25″, while sleet accumulations of 0.25-0.75″ are possible.
This precipitation will change to all snow with the heaviest amounts in the east & southeast. Snow will taper Friday evening.
Amounts of 1″ or less to isolated +4″ amounts are possible.
Strong north to north-northeast winds of 20-40 mph, with the ice, will cause some branches to break & fall. A few isolated power outages are possible. The wind will also cause the snow to blow & drift about.
