Glaze ice is over…..0.05 to 0.25″ has been reported.
Sleet is over…..0.25-0.70″ has been reported.
Snow fall continues & there is a nice deformation zone of pretty heavy snowfall in the area now. This band will move eastward & then set up over our eastern counties by evening. So, upped totals, except over parts of our Illinois counties. Thinking of two main bands setting up.
Pushed 2-4″ west & painted two 4-6″ bands as these two persistent heavier bands in the deformation zone should pump out higher accumulations.
When measuring, make sure to only snowfall, as the sleet has added 0.7″ accumulation & even the freezing rain has added 0.25″ ice. A white snowboard is the way to measure the snow. Never measure the snow in the grass.
Blowing & drifting continues & will be substantial issue into tonight. The snow will exit west to east, ending this evening, but some flurries & snow showers may occur overnight & into Saturday.
Icing has caused isolated power outages. There are a few isolated reports of trees & limbs down. The limbs down on Peerless Road in Evansville have been cleaned up, reportedly & the downed power lines have been repaired.
